ABOUT ME

J.A. Jablonski is an emerging indie author who writes in two genres: academic mystery and speculative SF.

A child of Wisconsin-born academics, Jude went on to earn 4 degrees of her own: 2 in English (BA, MA) and 2 in Information Studies (MSLIS, PhD). As an academic, librarian, and archivist, she’s taught hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students in both fields as well as worked with the faculty, staffs, and researchers at 8 U.S. universities.

All that experience gave Jude broad and entertaining insights into the layers of academe, from the singular personalities and behaviors of faculty, students, administrators, and staff to the quirky vibe of the college campus as a unique workplace.

As a writer, she finds characters, that is, who they are, were, and are becoming, utterly fascinating. “Plot matters,” she says, “but without people driving the bus, as a reader and author, I’m just not interested.”

She is a self-confessed style guide nerd, promotes the use of alt-text and closed captioning, and utterly shuns the use of AI. Their pronouns are she/her/them/they; their honorifics are Dr/Ms/Mx.

Jude and her husband are ardent sport fans (baseball and ice hockey). They live in Wisconsin.
